Tammy Black is the founder of the Manistique Community Treehouse. A mother of six, each of whom has special needs, Tammy is an advocate of creating spaces for everyone–both with and without disabilities–where people can be themselves and learn without judgement. The Manistique Community Treehouse is a space Tammy is developing in the Jefferson Chalmers neighborhood on Detroit’s east side. When complete, the treehouse will be an ADA-compliant space featuring occupational therapy, counseling, and educational programming.
